Ryanne's Op-ed Assignment

Maybe it started with Aristotle and his three modes of persuasion-Ethos, Pathos and Logos. Maybe it just happened last month when we watched Chimamanda Ngozi Adidchie's 'The Danger of a Single Story".

Perhaps it was back in February when Ryanne came home from school spewing hateful things about Trump because he's creating a Nick Sandman culture. I was familiar with his story all over the media. It was a throwback to the last administration when Bill O'Reilly and Jon Stewart used to go head to head.

As a once almost-journalism major, I couldn't stop thinking about this, not as a political issue, but as an ETHICAL issue.

So, Ryanne is writing this week as a way to understand ethics in writing. Journalism was once a privilege, like teaching. But somehow, they've cheapened over time. She's already written the first draft.
